The Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG) provides need-based grant money to Ohio residents pursuing an associate degree, first bachelor's degree, or nurse diploma at an eligible Ohio or Pennsylvania institution. To qualify for the 2026-27 award year, a student must have a Student Aid Index (SAI) of $3,750 or less and a household income of $96,000 or less. Award amounts vary by institution type and sector, ranging from no award at most community colleges up to $4,000 a year at public university main campuses and $5,000 a year at most private, nonprofit colleges, and are prorated for part-time enrollment.
Apply by completing the FAFSA; the deadline to be considered for OCOG for the 2026-27 academic year is October 1, 2026.
New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC)
Covers remaining SUNY or CUNY tuition for New York residents with household income up to $125,000, as a last-dollar scholarship on top of other aid.
